Labour Doula
As a certified Labour Doula you will be working with a pregnant mom or couple expecting a child, trying for a more natural route. There are many reasons why parents choose a Doula, and they are all important. During your training, you will be provided with education on:
~ ways to provide informational, physical and emotional support during labour and birth
~ help for the parent to find their voice, and empower them to make their own choices
~ newborn care, infant feeding basics & breastfeeding support
~ introduce parents to the lifestyle changes they face
Cost $450
Requirements for Certification
~ current CPR certification
~ 4 approved electives (elective cost is not included in the cost of the core program. Prices for electives range between $40 - $125 each)
~ labour support to 2 families and evaluations
~ completion of the mandatory reading list & projects
~ final exam and reflective paper

Postpartum
Why is Postpartum support so important? How can we empower the family to be a support structure at this time of transition?
This certification will teach you about the joy and thrill of working with the Postpartum family, help you understand the most pressing, common and uncommon issues and concerns for this stage of family development and show you where a Doula will fit in to help the family become a unit.
Some topics discussed: the benefits of Postpartum, breastfeeding, newborn care, and your new business.

Childbirth Educator
Do you enjoy setting your own timetable well in advance? Is the sharing of knowledge and group seminars right up your alley? Childbirth Education may be for you!
As a certified Childbirth Educator you will be working with parents to be, new mothers, families and providing them with knowledge, and empowering them through the birth planning process, calming techniques and coping skills for new parents.
